Who we are
Kilallan Trout Fishery, rests on the moor just above the beautiful village of Kilmacolm, on the border between Renfrewshire and Inverclyde.
A long-established still water, in a picturesque and peaceful setting, it comprises of a 6 acre fly pond (which can accomodate up to 30 anglers) and a 1 acre bait pond (which can accomodate up to 16 anglers). The fishery is regularly stocked with excellent quality, hard fighting trout.
Fishing is from the bank and platforms only (no wading allowed). There are several pegs available for wheelchair access. Over the colder months (or during inclement weather), the comfortable lodge is open to anglers who can enjoy a chat and a break in the warmth of the wood burner. In the warmer months the lodge will be closed and permits can be purchased at the window. Picnic benches are provided as an outdoor seating area. Hot and cold drinks, snacks and pies (from the local butcher) can be bought from the lodge. Bait rods can be hired per session. Gift vouchers and loyalty cards are available. By request, it is possible to have a barbeque at the side of the bait pond (but barbeques must be raised off the ground and all rubbish must be removed. Bin bags can be provided). There are male and female toilets at the side of the lodge.
• All management and staff Level 2 (enhanced) PVG checked.
• Full 24hr CCTV in operation covering both ponds.
• Barbless hooks only on fly pond (including kill tickets).
• To reiterate, no spinning on the bait pond.
• The anglers' hut in the woods near the island will be reopened.
• Management guarantee: All anglers who wish to come to Kilallan Fishery to enjoy the challenge of catching fish, in the solitude and tranquillity of being outdoors relaxing, will consistently be met with the warm welcome, respect and professionalism they deserve for paying for their permit.
